Two men arrested after oil laundering plant discovered in Meath

Gardai have appealed for witnesses after a 50-year-old man died following a road crash in Co Wicklow
Gardai and Revenue officers made the discovery this evening

Two men have been arrested following the discovery of an oil laundering plant in in Meath this evening

The discovery was made as part of a joint operation between the Gardai and Revenue officers at Macetown, Rathfeigh, Meath.

Fuel and ancillary equipment was siezed from the scene.

Two men, aged 19 and 20, were arrested and are currently being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at Navan and Ashbourne Garda Stations.

The unit had the capability of producing 3 million litres of laundered fuel per annum with an estimated loss of €1.5m to the exchequer.
