A man and woman are traumatised after their car was rammed and they were chased down the M50 by a group of men in two separate vehicles last night.
The incident happened after they drove to a car park on the Naas Road to meet another person in connection with the sale of a car.
But when the 40-year-old man and his 44-year-old female passenger tried to drive from the car park their exit was blocked by a car and an SUV.
The BMW was then rammed by the car which had blocked its exit.
After frantically trying to get away the man managed to escape the car park but was then followed by both the car, a. Renault Laguna, and the SUV, a VW Toureg, along the M50 where further attempts were made to ram it a number of times.
"It was a very tense scenario for the occupants of the BMW, especially along the M50 which had a good deal of traffic on it," said one source.
The BMW was then rammed again by the car on the Neilstown Road where both vehicles came to a stop.
Both occupants of the BMW fled on foot and contacted Gardai
A short time later two men, aged 30 and 21, were arrested in connection with the incident.
They were detained overnight at Lucan Garda Station under Section 4 Criminal Justice Act.
Both men are expected to appear before Blanchardstown District Court this morning charged in connection with this incident.
Investigations by gardai at Ronanstown are continuing.
