Two killed in road crashes

TWO people have died in separate crashes across the country.

A man in his 70s died after the car he was driving collided with another in Tramore, Co Waterford, at around 5pm yesterday.

The driver of the second car involved in the accident at Moonvoy was taken to Waterford Regional Hospital with serious injuries.

Elsewhere, a 51-year-old man died after he was hit by a car in Co Galway.

The man was struck at Kylebrack East in Loughrea at around 9pm yesterday.

He was taken to Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Technical examinations were carried out at the scenes of both accidents, and gardai in Tramore, Waterford, and Killimor, Galway, have appealed for witnesses.
