TWO tourists have been killed following a collision between their rented car and a truck on the Ring of Kerry.

Emergency services are still at the scene of the collision near Barry’s Cross on the Ballinskelligs Road outside Cahersiveen in Co Kerry.

The crash happened at approximately 12.25pm this afternoon when a car collided with a truck.

There were two occupants of the car, a man and woman both in their 20s, who are thought to have been holidaying in the area.

The driver of the lorry was uninjured.

The road has been sealed off awaiting an investigation by Garda forensic crash investigators and diversions are in place.

Gardai have appealed for witnesses to contact Cahirciveen Garda Station on 066 – 9473600, the Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
