Two held over father's death

DETECTIVES were last night quizzing two men in their 40s about the brutal murder of a father of two in his hometown.

Anthony Fallon (46) was found dead in the stairwell of an apartment complex at New Quay, in Clonmel, Co Tipperary, last Wednesday morning.

Gardai believe he was viciously beaten to death shortly before his body was found.

Detectives leading the probe arrested two men yesterday morning before bringing them to Clonmel garda station for questioning.

The pair can be kept in garda custody for up to 24 hours.
