The pair were arrested during an operation in which gardai stopped a car at Blanchardstown Shopping Centre, west Dublin.

Some 30kg of the drug was found in the vehicle.

Follow-up raids on a house in Fortlawn and a warehouse in Blakestown, both in Blanchardstown, turned up a further 30 kg of cannabis.

The drugs have been sent for forensic analysis and are believed to have a street value of €350,000, gardai said.

The two men arrested at the scene at around 8pm last night are both in their 30s.

The men are being held at Blanchardstown Garda Station under the Drug Trafficking Act and can be held up for to seven days.

The operation, involving the Organised Crime Unit, Garda National Drugs Unit and Blanchardstown's local Garda Drugs Unit, was targeting organised crime in west Dublin.
