Two arrested following €160,000 herbal cannabis seizure
Gardaí seized cannabis worth an estimated €160,000 in two separate searches in South Dublin.
Members from the Ronanstown Drugs Unit and Lucan Detective Unit were out on patrol in the Clondalkin area Friday afternoon at about 3:30 pm when they observed a car acting suspiciously.
Stopping and searching the vehicle, officers found six kilos of herbal cannabis (subject to analysis) with a street value of €120,000.
A man in his late 30s was arrested and brought to Ronanstown Garda station where he is being detained under the provisions of section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 as amended.

A second man was arrested during follow-up searches later that evening when Garda discovered a number of cannabis plants (subject to analysis) during a raid on a house in Clondalkin.
It is understood that these plants have an estimated street value of €40,000.
This man, also in his late 30s, is being detained at Ronanstown Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
