Two arrested after stabbing

A MAN was stabbed a number of times on a busy city centre street last night, writes Edel O'Connell.

Two men in their twenties were arrested following the violent skirmish, which took place on Henry Street in Dublin's city centre.

The incident, which left one man with multiple stab wounds, occurred at about 8.25pm.

The blood-soaked section of the street where the incident occurred was sealed off last night.

The two men arrested in connection with the incident were taken to Store Street garda station where they were detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

The injured man was taken to the Mater Hospital for treatment by ambulance.

His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
