Two arrested after seizure of €480k worth of cannabis

TWO men have been arrested following the seizure of cannabis worth an estimated €480,000 in Co Limerick today.

A planned search of four locations was carried out in the Newcastle West and Abbeyfeale areas of Co. Limerick, resulting in cannabis herb and cannabis plants all at different stages of harvesting being seized.

Two men, aged 39 and 36, were arrested and are currently detained at Newcastle West and Henry Street Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act.

The operation was carried out by Gardai attached to various divisional units at Henry Street Garda Station and Newcastle West Garda Station with the assistance of the local community.
