Two arrested after gardai discover cannabis plants worth almost €500k in seizure run

Two men have been charged in connection with three drug seizures of cannabis plants worth almost half a million euro.
The men are due to appear before a special sitting of Tullamore District Court this morning at 11am.
Gardai from Edenderry carried out a planned search of a premises at Clonmore, Edenderry on Wednesday evening at approximately 10.20pm.
They discovered cannabis plants at the premises believed to have a value of approximately €250,000.
Yesterday, gardai assisted by officers from the Tullamore District stopped and searched a vehicle close to Tullamore and seized a further quantity of cannabis plants.
In a follow-up search of a premises at Killy, Tullamore gardai seized more cannabis plants with an estimated value of €160,000.
The two men, aged 26 and 30 years, are currently detained at Tullamore Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
