Two arrested after €250,000 cocaine haul

GARDAI have seized drugs worth up to €250,000 from a gang led by a prime suspect for the murder of Real IRA leader Alan Ryan. A man and a woman were arrested and held for questioning after the cocaine was discovered in north dublin.

Armed officers from the Organised Crime Unit stopped and searched a car in Ballymun yesterday evening. They discovered a quantity of drugs and a further cache was found in a search of a house nearby.

It is understood the cache of drugs belonged to the gang whose leader is suspected of banding together with other crime gang bosses to order the murder of Ryan last year.

Several consignments of drugs have been seized from associates of the Ryan murder suspect.
