TV host Cagney lands €150 fine for speeding
TV presenter Mark Cagney has been fined €150 for speeding.
The 'Ireland AM' host, who lives in Sutton, Dublin, was summoned for driving an '08-reg car in excess of a 60kmh speed limit, at the N81 Tallaght Road on October 5 last year.
The broadcaster, dressed in jeans, a blazer and a blue shirt, did not address the court and remained seated while his solicitor told Judge Michael Coghlan "my client accepts the speed".
Dublin District Court heard that Mr Cagney had been doing 76kph when detected.
Judge Coghlan fined him €150 and ordered that it must be paid within three months or else there would be a three-day prison term in default.
The case will also result in him receiving four penalty points on his driver's licence.
