Tuning up for a presidential salute

The President was guest of honour at the Dublin school's sports and family day yesterday as part of the ongoing celebrations to mark its 150th anniversary. The school -- originally known as the French College, Blackrock -- was founded in 1860 by Pere Jules Leman. It was established to provide a Catholic education for boys while training them for missionary service in the third world.
Famous alumni include former president Eamon de Valera, designer Paul Costelloe, singer and Live Aid founder Bob Geldof, comedian Ardal O'Hanlon, broadcasters Ryan Tubridy and Craig Doyle and Ireland rugby stars Leo Cullen and Brian O'Driscoll.
