Troublesome tweets

Q In May 2010, Miriam O'Callaghan (pictured) apologised for confirming Gerry Ryan's death before the station was sure all members of his family had been informed.

Q In September 2011 Miriam O'Callaghan blamed an online hacker for a tweet which branded 'The Late Late Show' as "complete and utter rubbish".

Q In October 2011 RTE co-host of 'The Voice Of Ireland' Eoghan McDermott launched an extraordinary attack on pop twins Jedward.

He also described US politician Sarah Palin as "remedial" and "retarded", and referenced former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern online saying: "F*** you Bertie Ahern..."

Q This month one of RTE's freelance producers, Pat O'Mahony, labelled journalist David Quinn "a poisonous c**t" on his Twitter page. He later apologised to Quinn, who described the tweet as "shocking and unprofessional".
