Tributes to three women who lost lives on the road
The sister-in-law of a pedestrian who was killed on Sunday evening has paid tribute to a "caring person who would do anything to help anybody".
Margaret Webster (50), from Croan, Dunnamaggin, Co Kilkenny, died at Green Street in Callan shortly before 6pm on Sunday. It is understood Ms Webster may have fallen or stumbled immediately before being struck by a car.
Amanda O'Brien, Ms Webster's sister-in-law, said the family was in shock.
Meanwhile, a young mother of three killed in a horror car crash was laid to rest yesterday. Emma O'Keeffe (26), from Wilkinstown, Navan, Co Meath, died on Friday after a collision with a lorry near her home between Nobber and Kingscourt. Two of her sons were injured.
Mourners gathered at St John the Baptist Church in Kilberry, Co Meath.
Parish priest Fr John O'Brien paid tribute to her "love and care and attention to every detail for her boys, who were her world".
Separately, mother-of-two Yvonne Slaughter from Sallins, Co Kildare, was laid to rest in Naas. She was hit by a car as she crossed the road in Agadir on the first night of a holiday. She had only been in Morocco a few hours.
"She lives on in her children, and in our hearts and we will never forget her," said husband Brendan.
