Drivers in Dublin have been warned of serious disruptions due to a burst water main on the N7.
Gardai say there is now serious traffic disruption on the N81 Tallaght bypass.
The N7 outbound has re-opened and south bound traffic should now use this road, gardai say.
The disruption comes as throngs of drivers travel for the bank holiday weekend.
A burst water mains was reported earlier this afternoon, and the N7 at Newlands Cross was completely closed off.
Newlands Cross inbound remains closed inbound - with diversions in place at Kingswood - and it is expected to remain closed until tomorow.
Delays are being experienced inbound from Rathcoole to Kingswood.
Newlands Cross outbound has re-opened.
Delays are still being experienced inbound from Rathcoole to Kingswood and if road used can avoid N7 inbound they should do so.
Inbound traffic on the N7 should exit at Rathcoole or Kingswood junctions.
