TRAFFIC restrictions are in place during the European Peoples Party Congress at the Convention Centre Dublin (CCD) today.
Restrictions are in place at the front and rear of the CCD on North Wall Quay as a number of lay-bys have been created to facilitate the arrival of more than 1,500 delegates and European heads of state.
During this time, traffic flows will be maintained if possible in all directions on North Wall Quay.
North Wall Quay closed yesterday between Guild Street and East Wall Road at the O2, beginning at 6.30pm.
The same restrictions will be put in place today, beginning early this morning and ending in the early afternoon.
A number of additional local temporary diversions will also be put in place on both days, during which time general traffic coming from the east and west will be diverted via Sheriff Street.
While all commuters have been advised to use public transport, drivers and pedestrians living and working in the area will be permitted access if they carry ID.
Locals accessing the CCD, Spencer Dock and PWC complexes will be permitted access coming from the direction of the O2, and Guild Street/Mayor Street.
Live updates will be maintained on the garda Facebook and Twitter accounts on both days to notify locals of any changes.
