THE funeral will take place today of a schoolboy who was stabbed to death at the weekend.
Toyosi 'Toy' Shittabey (pictured) will be laid to rest in a Muslim ceremony in the capital at lunchtime.
The 15-year-old died on Friday night after an altercation just a few hundred yards from his home in Tyrrelstown, west Dublin.
His body was held by gardai for a number of days after his death for post-mortem examination. Last night, friends of the family said the funeral will take place at 1pm today at Newcastle cemetery in Dublin after a short service for the young soccer enthusiast.
Toyosi was the second eldest of six children and had been living in Ireland for the last 11 years. He was passionate about sports, especially football and athletics and played for Shelbourne's under 15s team.
His body will be brought to Cunningham's funeral home in Lucan this morning for the traditional Muslim embalming process before the final journey to the cemetery.
It is expected that there will be a large crowd at the service, following on from a number of rallies and commemorations for the teenager during the week. Last night, friends and family members of the Shittabeys continued to attend their home on the Mount Eustace estate in Tyrrelstown to mourn with them following the death.
