A SNOW-manhunt is under way for a 60ft inflatable figure that vanished days after a town launched a Christmas festival.
Officials at Wicklow town issued a public appeal for the safe return of "Snowy", who vanished from a shop roof in the centre of the town on Monday night.
The giant snowman with a pointy red nose and black bowler hat disappeared after the town launched its Victorian Christmas festival over the weekend.
A source at the local garda station said it's not the first time that the town's Christmas decorations have gone missing – only to reappear when the "thief" sobers up.
"We actually caught a drunken eejit walking with a reindeer," he said.
It's also possible that Snowy simply blew away, he added.
Meanwhile, Wicklow Business People has also issued a plea to have Snowy returned for the Christmas festival. "We are offering all kinds of Christmas treats to anyone with information on his whereabouts," a spokesperson said.
