Town in Tipp-top shape for festival like no other
The organisers of a festival, which sees the population of a small town quadruple once a year, are calling on music, comedy and food lovers to get on board.
Some of the best names in Irish music and comedy will take part in an annual Terryglass Arts Festival, which kicks off next week in Co Tipperary.
The festival, which is the brainchild of local postman Oliver Darcy, starts on Wednesday, August 17, when award-winning comedian Aindrias de Staic will perform the opening gig of the festival in the Pop-Up Playhouse in Terryglass Square at 9pm.
For those more interested in the culinary arts, 'The Art of Food and Wine', hosted by artisan food promoter Peter Ward, includes tastings of cheese with accompanying wines.
Tommy Fleming will perform, while Highly Strung, featuring comedienne Liz Ryan pictured, will offer a mix of drama, laughter and opera.
