Tourist killed in accident on beach

An American tourist who had just stepped off a tour bus was killed on picturesque Inch strand near Dingle, Co Kerry, yesterday morning when she was hit by a truck carrying surfboards.
The woman was named as Gena Hill, 59, from Kentucky, who was staying in Killarney with her husband and was on a bus tour to Dingle when the accident happened.
She was on the beach when she was hit by a truck modified to carry surfboards on the popular tourist spot shortly before 10am.
Meanwhile, biker Noel Dwyer died in an accident at Stonepark, Ballymote, Co Sligo, yesterday. Mr Dwyer, a 46-year-old father of three, died when the bike he was riding was in collision with a van near Ballymote football pitch at 10.45am.
Three people died in separate crashes on Friday. A boy aged seven died after he was hit by a 4X4 vehicle in Clonroche, Co Wexford. The child was named locally as Tom Connors.
A cyclist died when he was in collision with a lorry on the Main N4 at Clonart, Bornacoola, between the Rooskey roundabout and Newtownforbes, Co Longford. The man, in his 30s, was named locally as Niall Reddin of Lanesborough, Co Longford.
On Friday afternoon, a motorcyclist in his 20s died after his bike collided with a car in Limerick.
