Tough guy Cathal Pendred shows his soft side in battle to save stranded dolphin

When you think of Ultimate Fighting contenders or mixed martial artists, you don't exactly think warm and cuddly.
However, in the case of Ireland's own tough guy Cathal Pendred, it appears the muscle bound fighting machine is actually a big softie underneath it all – and not afraid to admit it.
The strapping skinhead rescued a baby dolphin off the coast of Doonbeg, Co Clare, on Sunday, leaping in and carrying it to safety when he saw it struggling in the surf.
The injured dolphin had been caught in the breakers and was too weak to escape, but Cathal helped the baby back out to sea.
The image quickly went viral on Twitter, with Leinster and Ireland prop and fellow strongman Cian Healy tweeted: "He kicks the shit out of people for a living and saves dolphins in his spare time... @PendredMMA to replace Michael D?"
We don't know about that Cian, but Cathal, you're our hero.
