IT is not often you see a toughened rugby man lugging along a cuddly toy.
But Irish rugby international Donncha O'Callaghan happily put any blushes aside as he got to grips with the teddies at flatpack furnishing giant IKEA as part of a fundraising campaign.
The UNICEF Ireland Ambassador and Munster player joined with little Aoife Quigley (3) from Raheny to announce that IKEA will donate €1 to Save the Children and UNICEF education programmes for every IKEA soft toy purchased from now until December 23.
Last year, IKEA donated €12.4m through the campaign. Since 2003, the Soft Toys for Education campaign has raised €47.5m and supported 70 projects in nearly 40 countries.
Eight million children have received a better education through projects in Asia, Africa, and Europe.
