WINDSURFER Mikey Clancy is in flying form at the World Cup of water sports in Gran Canaria, Spain.

Mr Clancy (21), from Raheny in Dublin, yesterday demonstrated his skill with a spectacular aerial jump while practising for the Professional Windsurfers Association World Cup Wave event.

The event takes place from July 5 to 10, after which the DIT marketing student will travel to Tenerife to compete in a competition in El Medano.

In 2007, he won the junior and under-19 Irish champion titles, and he was ranked 25th in the world in 2009, before being set back by a serious ankle injury.

Now very much back in action, he spends much of his summers in Pozo and winters in Cape Town.
