Dylan Murray-Finneran was playing outside his home in the Coilin Bui estate in Moate, Co Westmeath, on September 25, 2010 when the tragedy struck.

The toddler was rushed to the Midlands Regional Hospital in Mullingar with serious head injuries, before being transferred by helicopter to Temple Street Children's Hospital in Dublin. He died at the hospital on September 27, 2010.

An inquest heard a criminal prosecution had been taken against the party involved in the incident but a trial date has not been set.

The inquest was adjourned until the trial is over.
