THE beaming smile on the face of Lily-Mae Morrison says it all.
The five-year-old received the news that she and her family had long been hoping for – her cancer is in remission.
'Tiny Dancer' Lily-Mae, from Claregalway, Co Galway, captured the hearts of the country, and legendary singer Elton John, with her brave battle against Neuroblastoma. A charity single recorded in her honour topped the charts last year and the Sunni Mae Trust set up in her name has so far raised over €350,000.
"It's the best news we could ever have hoped for," said Lily-Mae's delighted mum, Judith Sibley.
They have been warned that this type of cancer comes with a very high rate of relapse – around 70pc – so they are ploughing ahead with a potentially life-saving clinical trial in the US. She will travel to Michigan every three months for the next two years.
