Three weeks on, TD has still failed to answer questions from Dail committee
TAX cheat Mick Wallace again refused yesterday to answer crucial questions put to him about the controversy over his €2.1m tax settlement with the Revenue Commissioners.
The Independent TD (pictured) has failed to provide important information about his firm's settlement, but yesterday he insisted: "I don't have to answer questions."
The Wexford TD has failed for the third week in a row to provide information to a Dail committee regarding his company's tax settlement.
He objected to yesterday's front-page story in this newspaper, which focused on his call for higher earners to pay more taxes while he continues to stall on providing details of his firm's €2.1m tax settlement.
"I don't have to answer their questions. I'm not answerable to them (the Irish Independent)," he said.
When South-East Radio put some of the same questions to him, he still didn't provide answers.
He said: "I'm answerable to the law. I'm answerable to the people of Wexford.
"If I have done anything unlawful and if I have issues to answer with the Revenue and with corporate enforcement, then I'll be dealt with through the legal system."
