Three tragic Waterford fishermen brothers being laid to rest today

Jerome Reilly, SUNDAY INDEPENDENT

THREE brothers, three fishermen and three best friends will be laid to rest later today.

Kenny, Shane and Paul Bolger had together fished  in the often dangerous waters off the south east coast since they were teenagers.

And they were were still  together at the end when the sea turned  against them as they went out to gather their lobster pots on board their 18 foot punt, the Dean Leanne

Though they were wearing lifejackets it now appears likely, according to  preliminary post mortem, results that the three brothers were kill by hypothermia

They lived their lives together  and they died together.

They were waked  at Hennessy’s Funeral Home in Waterford city before making the short  journey home.

Shane and Kenny will be laid to rest following a service in Crooke, followed straight afterwards by Paul’s funeral in nearby Faithlegg Cemetery in Cheekpoint.
