Three people arrested following armed robbery in Dublin

THREE people have been arrested by gardai following an armed robbery at a filling station.

Gardai arrested two men and a woman last night after they threatened staff with a handgun and knife and stole a sum of money from a filling station on Clonsilla Road at around 9pm.

A car pulled up at the filling station driven by the woman aged in her 40’s. Then the two men, one aged in his late teens, and the other in his 20’s, exited the car wearing balaclavas and armed with a knife and a handgun.

They entered the filling station threatened staff and stole a quantity of cash.

But as the men exited the shop they were intercepted by gardai who were on routine patrol in the area. 

All three were arrested and a firearm, knife and cash were recovered. 

The three were taken to Blanchardstown Garda station where they are detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939.
