Three men have been injured in a shooting in a Dublin pub, detectives have said.
The attack took place at about 12.30am on Monday morning in the Players Lounge in the Fairview area.
A Garda spokesman said a lone assailant, armed with a handgun, walked up to the front of the bar and opened fire on a group of men standing outside.
Detectives believe the gunman, who was wearing a balaclava, targeted a doorman at the pub and the two other injured men were bystanders. The security man was shot in the head, the other critically injured man was hit in the chest.
One man in his 30s was taken to the Beaumont Hospital and a second man in his 20s to the Mater Hospital. Both were said to be in a critical condition.
A third man, aged in his 30s, was said to be in a serious condition in the Mater.
A red Volkswagen Golf, believed to have been used as a getaway car, was later found burnt out in the Mount Street area on Dublin's southside.
The vehicle, fitted with false registration plates 05-D-57078, was abandoned in Verschoyle Place.
A Garda spokesman said the car was being treated as a second crime scene with forensic tests ongoing.
