Three men face court after gun seized in garda interception
Three men are to appear in Dublin District Court this morning after gardai intercepted a major crime gang and seized weapons at the weekend, writes Tom Brady.
The three, who include two brothers, aged 30 and 35 years, from Blanchardstown in west Dublin, will be charged with possession of firearms in the Co Kildare village of Kill in the early hours of Sunday.
They were detained in a BMW car, which had been stolen in West Dublin.
During a search of the car gardai recovered a sawn-off shotgun and an automatic pistol. Two other suspects arrested in another car were released late last night but were still under investigation in relation to a number of alleged offences.
