Three hospitalised as ambulance smashes into wall in Rathfarnham

Three people were taken to hospital following a traffic accident in Rathfarnham earlier this morning.

An ambulance crashed into a wall in Rathfarnham just before 9am.

One other vehicle was involved in the accident.

The incident occurred on Butterfield Avenue, near where the Rathfarnham garda station is located.

According to a garda spokesperson, three people were taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.

The Dublin Fire Brigade confirmed that two paramedics and the driver of the car involved were hospitalised

The ambulance was not carrying a patient and none of the injuries suffered were major.

Both the Dublin Fire Brigade and gardai have launched investigations into the traffic incident.
