A photographic exhibition which encourages people to embrace their imperfections goes on show in Dublin this week.

The one-off exhibition by Italian artist Alex Sapienza, entitled Be Yourself, Everyone Else Is Already Taken, goes on display at 37 Dawson Street on Friday from 6.30pm to 10pm.

The photographs will feature a number of high-profile names, including Bob Geldof and Rozanna Purcell, and were taken on a 19th century camera, meaning the images could not be altered.

Sapienza told the Sunday Independent: "I want to remind people that life is not perfect and to embrace themselves and the way they look and be proud of every wrinkle and freckle. The photographs are not posed. Each person looks straight into the lens.

"I wanted to see their personality and their soul. They are all unique."
