New apartments and homes for Sligo village
Work has started begun on 34 new homes in a Co Sligo village.
The development in Strandhill of detached and semi-detached houses and apartments is expected to be completed later this year.
The planning application for the development was first submitted ten years ago and was recently given the go-ahead by Sligo County Council.
Auctioneer Tommy Brehony says he expects the homes to be sold quickly.
"Strandhill is a very popular location for families," he said. "Prices are increasing faster than anywhere else in Co Sligo."
There have been complaints from local people of a lack of homes in Strandhill in recent years.
