The President’s schedule for whistle-stop 24 hour trip
9:35am: The President and First Lady Michelle Obama touched down at Dublin Airport on Air Force One to be greeted by Tanaiste Eamon Gilmore.
10:15am: Their first engagement was with President Mary McAleese, who greeted them at her residence in the Phoenix Park, Aras an Uachtarain, before they held a private meeting and signed the guest book and attended a tree planting ceremony.
11:15am: The President held a bilateral meeting with Taoiseach Enda Kenny and the Tanaiste in the state residence Farmleigh, in the Phoenix Park.
1:20pm: President Obama is due to travel to the US Embassy in Ballsbridge for a private meet and greet with the Washington diplomatic corps.
3:15pm: The President and First Lady visit his ancestral homeland in the village of Moneygall, Co Offaly in the Midlands where 2,000 lucky golden ticket winners will get to share the homecoming celebrations.
5:30pm: President Obama follows in the footsteps of other leading Irish-American presidents when he delivers a speech to a crowd of thousands on College Green in Dublin city centre.
:: The President will stay overnight in the Irish capital before departing from Dublin Airport on Air Force One tomorrow morning for his state visit to the UK.
