The fateful last hours of tragic schoolgirl ...

Midnight Friday: Michaela Davis leaves her home in the village of Porterstown telling family members she is going out for a short while.

2am Saturday

Her parents contact gardai and report her missing. A search begins immediately and involves the garda helicopter.

4pm Saturday

A man walking along the banks of the Royal Canal at Porterstown discovers the partially clothed body of the 12-year-old in undergrowth.

Around 8pm Saturday

A 19-year-old man presents himself at Blanchardstown garda station and is arrested on suspicion of being involved in a serious assault.

Sunday morning

Michaela's bicycle is discovered a short distance from her home and gardai establish a second crime scene.
