U2 GUITARIST The Edge has no problem handing out his secrets to rock success.
He held a "jamming session" at the Cauldron Recording Studios, in Dublin, yesterday to coincide with the announcement that U2 and the Ireland Funds will continue to co-fund Music Generation, an initiative providing young people with high-quality, subsidised music tuition in their local areas.
The Department of Education and Skills began phasing in co-funding for the foundation last month.
The Edge was keen to stress the importance of encouraging creativity and artistic ability when he met students from Music Generation Limerick.
U2 began while its members were attending Mount Temple Comprehensive School and the band are grateful for the encouragement and support they received.
"We were lucky enough to attend a school with a great music programme and that is why Music Generation is so important to us," The Edge said.
"We are very proud of its success and the fact that it will continue into the future."
