James Gilleran, the original 'Daff Man' is spending the day in his suit of daffodils to celebrate Daffodil Day.

Mr Gilleran is raising money for the Irish Cancer Society, on O'Connell Street, Dublin.

Last year's Daffodil Day event for the Irish Cancer Society was impacted by stormy conditions that caused donations to fall by 50pc compared with the €3.2m the previous year.

The annual fundraising campaign is now in its 27th year.
