Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding two deaths in Co Fermanagh.

The bodies of a man (55) and woman (51) were found at a house in the Lisnaskea area, near Maguiresbridge.

The house is located about 15km north of Enniskillen.

It is understood that police are not looking for anyone in relation to the incident at this stage.

The area has been sealed off for an examination and there are no further details at this time.

Sinn Féin MLA Michelle Gildernew has spoken of her shock at the two deaths.

Speaking on Monday night Ms Gildernew said: "The deaths of the woman and man in Maguiresbride is a tragedy. This is a quite a tight knit community and the news has upset many.

"It is too early to say what happened but the police are investigating.

"I have spoken to family members who are quite obviously shocked and devastated. I would appeal for anyone with information surrounding this incident to bring it to the PSNI."

Tom Elliott, the Ulster Unionist Party candidate for Fermanagh and South Tyrone in the forthcoming Westminster Election, also expressed his sadness at the news.

He said: "The local community is in shock tonight...my thoughts and prayers are with those who are bereaved."
