Friends of a young woman who has been missing for more than four days have renewed their appeals for her safe return.
Margaret ‘Mags’ Berry (35) was last seen in Galway City on Wednesday, February 3rd.
Described as 5 foot 3 with red/black hair, she was spotted in the Salthill area, near Grattan Court, at around 4 pm, dressed in black with a hat and possibly a purple scarf.
It is believed she was heading towards Renmore on foot when she disappeared.
“All of her friends are very worried and we just want Mags to get in touch with someone and tell us she’s ok,” said a friend of the missing 35-year-old.
“Her friends and members of the public have been going out each day since Friday searching for her, hoping something will turn up.
“Aside from a phone signal on Wednesday evening, there’s been no trace of her since.
“With the missing people that have turned up in recent weeks safe and sound, we’re hoping Mags will be the same,” she added.
A Facebook appeal launched 24 hours after Mags was first reported missing has already garnered more than a 1,000 followers, with many people expressing their wish for the 35-year-old's safe return.
Gardaí said they were reviewing CCTV footage the Salthill and Renmore area, and have asked for anyone who might have information that could help in tracing Mags’ whereabouts to get in touch.
“Anyone who has seen Margaret (Mags) or who can assist in locating her is asked to contact Galway Garda Station on 091-1538000, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.”
