Three teenagers were rushed to hospital last night after suffering shotgun injuries in north Dublin.

Gardaí and emergency services responded to reports of a shooting on Shangan Green in Ballymun shortly before 8pm.

On arrival they discovered three males who had suffered apparent gunshot wounds.

They were taken by ambulance to the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital and Children's University Hospital, Temple Street, where they were treated for "minor injuries". A source said the injuries were most likely caused by shotgun pellets.

They are understood to be suffering from minor injuries.

The scene is preserved for a technical and forensic examination and Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.

Gardaí are investigating if the gun attack is linked to an earlier stabbing in the area.

A teenager suffered knife injuries during an earlier attack.

A source said the incidents are connected to a local feud.
