Teenage jockey airlifted to hospital with head injuries following fall from horse
A young jockey is in an induced coma in hospital after suffering a head injury from falling off a horse.
The 19-year-old was racing at an amateur point-to-point event in Ballingarry, Co. Tipperary yesterday when he fell and injured his head.
He was then airlifted to the Midlands Regional hospital in Tullamore where he remains this evening.
Independent.ie has learned that the young man suffered a head injury and several fractured vertebrae.
He is currently in an induced coma in hospital but remains in a stable condition.
