TD 'upset' over attack on office

THE office of a prominent government TD was vandalised just hours after the harshest Budget in the history of the state was unveiled, writes Brian McDonald.

Staff arriving at the office of east Galway Fianna Fail TD Noel Treacy, in Athenry, yesterday morning were shocked to discover broken windows and a badly damaged front door.

Mr Treacy, who had remained in Dublin overnight, was informed and the gardai alerted.

The office was later boarded up. Mr Treacy said he, his staff, and family were shocked and upset.
