TARA Mines management has agreed to talks on its cost-cutting plan.
The Swedish-owned zinc mine in Navan said it will "refrain from taking any further action" for the rest of the month after putting its 670 workers on protective notice last week.
The workers had refused to accept a 10pc pay cut and lower bonuses as well as lower pay rates for new recruits.
Lay-offs were ruled out following a meeting at the Labour Relations Commission.
