TAOISEACH Enda Kenny's Christmas message was one of hope for next year. He said that he saw brighter days ahead and hoped to have delivery on proposals at EU level in 2013.
In his Christmas message, he said: "My message is one of hope – not just from the Christian message that we have but also for the fact that I see our country making steady progress during 2012. We hope to build on that for 2013.
"My message is that while we have put up with a good deal of challenges and a good deal of difficulties, things are beginning to improve. I see brighter days ahead.
"And as they say in Ireland: you know, if it rains for three weeks, people always give out.
"And if the sunshine comes, they say it's well worth the wait.
"I hope to be able to deliver on that with the Government in 2013 and with our colleagues in Europe."
