TAOISEACH Enda Kenny has spoken with Education Minister Ruairi Quinn and Health Minister Dr James Reilly in the wake of tensions between the pair.
Mr Quinn has refused to deny he said Dr Reilly was "not up to the job" and Labour Party Cabinet ministers shared the concerns about him.
Mr Kenny said he spoke to the two ministers concerned following reports of the strained relationship.
“I have spoken to both Minister Quinn and Minister Reilly and they are both absolutely at one in what we have to do here,” he said.
The Taoiseach said Minister Quinn has assured him he has “absolute confidence” in Minister Reilly.
Mr Kenny said the Health Minister will fufil his mandate as a minister.
Fianna Fail leader Micheal Martin said Mr Quinn was the “poster boy for political cynicism”.
He asked the Taoiseach if Mr Quinn did make the comments about Dr Reilly.
