Taoiseach claims Goverment’s recovery plan is working

TAOISEACH Enda Kenny claims the Government’s plan for economic recovery is working.

But Mr Kenny says the Government’s priorities in the next year will be job creation and dealing with mortgage arrears.

Mr Kenny and Tanaiste Eamon Gilmore are marking the second anniversary of the coalition coming to powers

The two leaders have published a progress report on the Programme for Government so far.

Mr Kenny said since taking office, Government has been “working with the Irish people” to implement its plan for economic recovery.

“I believe that Ireland is now heading in the right direction. Our plan is working.

“People’s hard work and sacrifices are beginning to pay dividends.  Ireland is rebuilding its reputation, restoring its confidence, laying the foundation for a better, brighter, more prosperous future,” he said.

Mr Gilmore said exiting the bailout this year would be a “significant success story”.
