BRITISH soldiers patrol the streets. Heavily armoured Land Rovers trundle down the road. And a man erects a sign with the letters 'IRA'.

But the neighbourhood wasn't caught in some shift of time and place yesterday. Instead, the streets had been taken over by Hollywood.

The Killinarden estate in Tallaght, Dublin was transformed into a Belfast republican housing estate for the filming of 'Shadow Dancer'.

The movie stars Andrea Riseborough as a young mother and IRA member who is recruited as an MI5 informer by Clive Owen after being arrested for an aborted bombing attempt in London.

Aidan Gillen and Gillian Anderson also star.
