Swimmers fighting for life

TWO women are fighting for life in hospital after being rescued off the Kerry coast.

They were brought ashore at Inch Strand after getting into difficulties at around 7pm last night.

Ambulance crews performed CPR on the swimmers, both in their 60s.

They were airlifted to Kerry General Hospital in Tralee.

"Both women were swimming at the time and were in a critical condition when taken from the water," said a Valentia Coast Guard spokesman.
