Swim victim to be flown home

THE body of an Irish swimmer who died within sight of France during a Channel crossing attempt is set to be flown home from Calais within 24 hours.

Paraic Casey (45), from Passage West in Cork, is expected to be removed on Friday evening, with his funeral on Saturday.

His wife, Riana Parsons-Casey, said the family had been overwhelmed by messages of support and sympathy since his death on Sunday, just one kilometre from the French coast.
